The weather has been absolutely perfect for the past couple of weeks to enjoy Spring Training games. I’ve begin to a couple of games at the new Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. It’s a beautiful ball field that is easy to get in and out of and everything is definitely shiny and new. In some ways that seems a bit odd because when I think of baseball I think of old places that have been around for a long time. Another thing that was strange was seeing people ordering and eating sushi at a baseball game. Just give me a hot dog and a beer and I’m a happy girl. Monday I’ll be going to see the Diamondbacks play at Scottsdale Stadium. Can’t wait for that!
The weather is perfect right now in Scottsdale. It’s a great time to be outdoors enjoying our wonderful “winter” weather. If you are looking for something to do outdoors, you might consider the Arizona BBQ Festival at the Scottsdale Waterfront. It’s happening on March 26 and here’s a link where you can get more information. My husband loves BBQ so he will be there for sure!
From OPI’s website: “Get ready for modern American-style, as OPI comes “home” to the USA with the Texas collection. A fresh and refreshing facet to an effortlessly chic, very unique, and colorful original style season. Includes six unique shades with a “sorbet-like” finish.”
Several of my clients have fallen in love with these beautiful new shades. In describing these colors I would say think of shiny and translucent lipgloss rather than lipstick.
We have the entire collection of 12 shades:
Don’t Mess With OPI – A lean, mean, kick-grass forest green.
Austin-Tatious Turquoise – Cowgirls love this bodacious blue-green.
It’s Totally Fort-Worth It – A shimmery lavender grey that’s so worthy of you.
Do You Think I’m Tex-y? – A “berry” sexy bloom of Dallas Dahlia.
I Vant To Be A-Lone Star – You won’t want to share this starry Texas-sky blue.
Houston We Have A Purple – A galactic red-violet that’s ready to “rocket-roll”!
Suzi Loves Cowboys – But she loves this campfire chocolate shade s’more!
San Tan-tonio – A “honey” of a ten-gallon tan!
Too Hot Pink To Hold ‘Em – A red-hot pink-red that deals a winning hand.
Guy Meets Gal-veston – An “engaging” coastal coral.
Y’all Come Back Ya Hear? – This Texas tangerine will be waitin’ for ya!
Big Hair Big Nails – A rosy pageant peach.
Come on in and get your Texas on!

Happy new year! It’s time to stop biting your nails and have the beautiful nails you deserve. Nail biting is a nasty habit that starts in childhood and for some continues well into adulthood. It creates ugly hands and can cause painful fingertips. One of the best ways to stop this bad habit is to get professional manicures on a regular basis. Keeping your cuticles trimmed and your fingernails correctly shaped will lessen the psychological need to bite them. A lovely shade of nail polish will also cause you to think twice about biting your nails.
Another great remedy is to find something for your hands to do. Holding a cigarette is not one of them! Take up knitting or crocheting as these crafts are all the rage. Even something as simple as silly putty would keep your fingers busy and distract you from thinking about biting your nails.
Be resolved this year to end the nasty habit of nail biting and treat your hands to the pleasant experience of a manicure by the Nail Goddess.
The weather has been gray and drizzly and a little on the chilly side which certainly makes it feel more like Christmas. Wishing you and yours a wonderful and happy Christmas. Cherish the memories you make that day with your little ones – I know I certainly will.
Whenever I think of the Christmas season it reminds me of the color red! It’s the time of year when everyone wears a little red. We all want to look festive for those holiday parties in the days ahead. You might wear black for a dressy occasion, but you can use your nails like jewels to add that touch of red or another jewel tone. There is a red for everyone… even if you don’t think you can wear it.
Looking through my collection I found a variety of beautiful reds ranging from bright orangey reds to dark bluish reds and everything in between.
OPI Red: the shade that started it all; a classic red.
OPI Big Apple Red: a bright and shiny red.
OPI Red My Fortune Cookie: a very rich, warm red.
OPI Wanted… Red Or Alive: a creamy, pinky red.
OPI Deer Valley Spice: a red with hot pink glitter and blue iridescence.
OPI French Bordeaux: a rich full-bodied red with a bluish shimmer.
OPI Soho Nice to Meet You: a shimmering pinkish cherry red.
OPI I’m Not Really a Waitress: a metallic, shimmering red.
OPI It’s a Doozi Says Suzi: a deep rich burgundy red.
China Glaze Salsa: creamy, glossy, deep, rich, classic red.
Essie Bordeaux: a deep wine red.
Essie Lacy Not Racy: a velvety vintage burgundy red.
Don’t be afraid to try red nail polish. We can try on several different shades and see which one works best with your skin tone. So, don’t forget the red this season!
A client just shared with me this silly website where you enter your name and gives you your professional wrestling name. My professional wrestling name is Shapely Lady! How did they know?
Might make an interesting party starter while you’re with family and friends this weekend. Here’s the link: Pro Wrestling Name. Enjoy!
Wow! That was fast. It seems like it wasn’t that long ago I was dressing my kids in their Halloween costumes. Now it’s Thanksgiving! I have much to be thankful for – a loving family, good friends, a great place to work and the best clients anywhere. Don’t eat too much turkey and enjoy the time off from work, if you get it.
